Can I install a 5-metre wide FOLD-UP® door?
Yes, the FOLD-UP door can reach a maximum size of 7.5 meters wide and 6 meters high. For larger sizes it is necessary to use the rapid doors of the DUAL range .
Is the FOLD-UP® folding door windproof?
Yes, the FOLD-UP® folding door is certified for wind resistance class 2 (approximately 100 km/h).
In case of wind, its use is not recommended and the door must remain closed.
Why does the FOLD-UP® door move slower than the roll-up door?
Because the FOLD-UP folding door has a larger size than a rolling door, the door leaf has a greater weight given by the surface. In addition, inside the leaf there are metal reinforcements that further increase the weight.
However, it is advisable for rapid folding doors to operate at a slower speed than rolling doors because the straps can inadvertently lift an operator.
What causes the noise of the folding door?
All folding doors are noisier than the rolling type.
The vertical guides have a size useful for the vertical sliding of the door leaf but also have a containment function when the door is open.
It is normal that in the presence of wind or during movement the door may be noisier due to the play required for the packing of its cover.
Can I fit multiple rows of portholes on the FOLD-UP® folding door?
FOLD-UP® rapid doors are recommended with a door leaf without windows.
The portholes are made of Cristal, a “transparent” film based on PVC resin which is extremely delicate and subject to the following problems:
- Significant dimensional variations (elongations and/or narrowings)
- Condensation build-up
- Opacity due to the humidity that the rolled up sheet absorbs during the summer period
- Opacity due to accumulation of dirt and dust
- Poor tensile strength
The presence of portholes weakens the textile structure of the PVC membrane and in a short time, impregnated with dust and dirt, the Cristal turns yellow, becomes opaque and breaks.
For these reasons it is not recommended to insert portholes on the mantle of rapid doors. They are a problem and do not guarantee visibility and brightness.

How the Closure Works
The curtain hanging from the crosspiece slides inside the galvanized steel profile guides called uprights and is packed in the upper part of the door. The lifting action is transmitted to the curtain by means of straps that are connected to the metal tubes. The straps roll up in the crosspiece on a roller connected to the gearmotor powered at 400V.
The tubes of the rapid folding door provide wind resistance even in large spaces outside the industrial shed.
